This year's SciMat Conference will be held in the emblematic Casa do Infante, in O'Porto. Casa do Infante is a complex of buildings that were built to host the services of the Crown in O'Porto. Its history dates back to 1325 when King Afonso IV ordered the construction of the Royal "almazem", against the will of the bishop, then lord of village. The figure of Prince Henry contributed to the prestige of the monument. The prince's birth occurred March 4, 1394, according to tradition, the Royal Customs House.

 

This building host, nowadays, the Municipal Historical Archive of Porto and the classification as a national monument occurred in 1924. Casa do Infante has suffered major improvement works between 1958-1960 and 1998-2003.
